Pune: Students Submitting Fake Certificates to Face Criminal Charges – Maharashtra DTE Issues Warning

Pune, 8th May 2024: Director of Technical Education Dr Vinod Mohitkar has issued a clear directive through a circular, stipulating that students seeking admission to professional courses such as engineering, management, and pharmacy, as well as undergraduate and postgraduate programs, must ensure they possess all necessary educational documents and certificates. Additionally, he has cautioned that students found submitting fake educational certificates during the admission process will face criminal charges.

The circular, released by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), applies to examinations for various professional courses conducted by the Maharashtra State’s Common Entrance Test Cell (CET Cell). The admission process is conducted based on merit, with the submission of essential documents being a prerequisite for admission to various vocational courses under the DTE.

Furthermore, the circular emphasizes the importance of submitting a verification application within one month following admission.

Caste Validity Certificates are not required for admissions in graduation after 10th and 12th. However, the circular stipulates that backward-class candidates admitted to reserved seats in the first-year diploma or second-year diploma courses must submit a duly filled application form to the relevant Caste Scrutiny Committee for the verification of Caste Validity Certificates within one month from the date of admission.

Important information for aspirants:

– Caste Validity Certificates and Tribe Validity Certificates are required as necessary.
– Backward class candidates seeking admission to reserved seats in degree and post-graduate courses must submit caste or tribe validity certificates.
– For all backward class candidates other than Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe, a Non-Criminal Certificate valid until March 31, 2025, is necessary.
– Reservation policy for admission to professional courses in the state does not apply to backward-class candidates domiciled outside Maharashtra, even if they are domiciled in the state.

An income certificate issued by a competent authority is required for candidates seeking admission under the Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme.

– An economically Weaker Section (EWS) certificate valid for the academic year 2024-25 is required for economically weaker sections.
– Aadhaar number and attached bank account are necessary for directly depositing scholarship amounts, fee reimbursements, and other scheme benefits into the beneficiary’s account.
