Pune: Viral Video Shows Man Allegedly Attacking Puppy in Pimpri

Pimpri, 19th April 2024: A report of animal cruelty has emerged from Pimpri Chinchwad, involving an individual who allegedly used an iron rod to severely harm a puppy. A video of the incident, which occurred around 5:30 pm on April 18 on Link Road in Pimpri, has gone viral on social media.

 

Hitesh Jaypal Kundnani, a 34-year-old resident of Link Road, filed a complaint with Pimpri Police Station regarding the incident. The police have registered a case against a man known as Gupta, approximately 55 years old and a resident of Pradhikaran, though he has not yet been arrested.

 

According to police reports, Gupta owns a business called Gupta Traders on Link Road in Pimpri. In front of the store, a brown and white puppy, approximately 3 months old, was seen roaming around. When Gupta encountered the puppy, he attempted to shoo it away, and when the puppy did not move, Gupta allegedly began beating it with an iron rod.

 

The beating resulted in fractures and rendered the puppy unconscious. Kundnani captured the incident on video, assisted the puppy, and admitted it to a hospital in Wakad. He then filed a complaint with the Pimpri Police.

The police have registered a case against Gupta under the relevant sections of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act of 1960. Senior Police Inspector of Pimpri Police is investigating the matter further.
