New Delhi, 13th August 2021: The second wave of corona infection in the country is about three times more intense than the first; this result has been concluded by the experts of IIT Kanpur.

Experts in the medical field consider four major reasons behind this sharp cause of infection. These include the spread of new types of Coronavirus, the loss of immunity among previously infected people, double mutations in the coronavirus in India, and severe negligence in adhering to corona-appropriate behaviour like wearing the mask.

Recently published research by the Indian Institute of Integrative Biology (IGIB), a laboratory of CSIR, claimed that 70% were found to have neutralizing antibodies when immunity levels were tested after six months in those infected once again which is effective in preventing infection. Whereas in 30 percent of people, it was seen to be almost finished.

IGIB Director Dr Anurag Agarwal said that it is clear that if three people have developed corona, one of them can get an infection again after six months. But how long the remaining two people will get protection is not clear, as the study has been done at an interval of six months.

This research was done on 200 people who have been infected in 24 cities.

According to experts, this research is also important because, in Delhi, it was found that about 60 percent of the population has been affected by corona. Because antibodies were found in them. But IGIB study shows that after six months, 30% of these people have come back in danger.

According to Professor Jugal Kishore, director of the community medicine department of Vardhman Mahavir Medical College, corona type cases found in Britain have been found in many states including Punjab, Maharashtra, and Delhi.

The way infection is spreading rapidly, it is clear that the Corona variant of Britain has spread rapidly in the country. Similarly, the African variant has also spread. Although Brazil variant cases are limited.

Double Changes in Viruses: According to experts, changes are also taking place in the active virus in India. The National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed double changes in the coronavirus in the country which is more contagious than before.

Thus, the changes in the virus in the country are also responsible for its rapid spread. This needs in-depth research.

Negligence in Corona-friendly behaviour: Professor Kishore says that one of the main reasons for the rapid transition is that as economic activity intensifies, the fear of corona among people is over and people are not following Corona-friendly behaviour. This is a major reason for its spread.

It seems that for the last year, following the Corona rules, people have become unhappy. Secondly, the fear of the people has also gone away due to the introduction of vaccines.

IIT Kanpur professor Maninder Aggarwal said that the rate of infection of corona in the first wave was 0.15 which is 0.4 this time. This is only a little less than three times. This means that earlier one person used to infect 0.15 people in a day, in other words, it used to infect one person in seven days.

It seems that for the last year, following the Corona rules, people have become unhappy. Secondly, the fear of the people has also gone away due to the introduction of vaccines.
