Pune: Alcohol-Fueled Argument Ends In Murder Of Pimpri Resident
Pimpri, 10th October 2023: An incident unfolded in the area of Lal Topi Nagar in Pimpri on Monday, October 9, as a 50-year-old man lost his life due to a brutal assault with an iron pipe. Mukhtar Badshah Sheikh, a resident of Pimpri, was the victim in this tragic incident, which resulted from a minor dispute exacerbated by alcohol consumption.
The Pimpri police acted swiftly in response to the incident, leading to the arrest of the accused, identified as 21-year-old Keshav Pawar, also hailing from Pimpri. The case was filed based on a complaint by Rafiq Basir Sheikh, aged 41, at the Pimpri police station.
According to preliminary investigations and witness statements, the fatal altercation stemmed from an argument that escalated after both Mukhtar and the accused, Keshav Pawar, consumed alcohol. The heated exchange between the two men led to physical violence.
Keshav Pawar reportedly struck Mukhtar Badshah Sheikh on the head with an iron pipe while the victim was seated in a nearby shed. The blow was accompanied by a second assault using a stone, resulting in Mukhtar’s rapid demise at the scene of the altercation. Pimpri Police are investigating the matter further.
