Pune: Signature Campaign Launched Over Water Issues In Pimple Nilakh, Vishalnagar

Pimpri, 4th May 2022: Pimple Nilakh, Vishalnagar area has been experiencing severe water shortage for the last three years. Due to the reluctance of the local people’s representatives and the administration, the citizens of the area have to pay for water through tankers.

Due to the negligence of the administration and the people’s representatives, the citizens are facing water problem and financial hardship even though they are paying the municipal tax and water bill from time to time.

In view of the growing population in the area, Sachin Sathe, Secretary, Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee, has taken initiative to get the signatures of 10,000 citizens from May 1 which is celebrated as Maharashtra Day, to draw the attention of the administration to the construction of two separate water tanks at Vishal Nagar and Pimple Nilakh Gaothan.

Irregular and low pressure water supply is also being provided to various societies including in Pimple Nilakh Gaothan, Panchsheel Nagar, Ganesh Nagar, Rakshak Society, Vishal Nagar, Adarsh ​​Nagar along with Jagtap Dairy.

Sathe has demanded that the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) should supply water at its own cost, otherwise the administration should refund the bill paid by the citizens for the extra water tankers.

The signatures will be handed over to the PCMC Commissioner and Administrator Rajesh Patil on Wednesday (May 11, 2022) after taking the signatures of ten thousand citizens of this area till May 10.

Two months ago, Sathe had met Commissioner Rajesh Patil along with a delegation to draw attention to the issue. However, the administration has not yet taken action on this. Sathe also warned that there would be more agitation against the disrupted water supply.

Former Police Patil Bhuleshwar Nandgude, Vijay Jagtap, Nitin Ingavale, Kailas Chavanhan, Prakash Balwadkar, Dhyanoba Balwadkar, Sahebrao Nandgude, Dilip Balwadkar, Sanjay Dalvi, Anant Kumbhar, Suresh Bapu Sathe, Anil Sancheti, Nana Sadakal, Jagdale Mama, Nana Gunjal, Balasaheb Kamble and other prominent citizens were present.
